Biography

I am an award-winning artist living in the Los Angeles area. My work primarily involves mixed media metal sculptures with roots in Abstract Expressionism. I am strongly influenced by Kandinsky. Heated, twisted, welded metal, glass and textured acrylic paintings are found in my work. Often created in the presence of music, curving, flowing lines are an identifying mark of my art. Mixed media paintings are also a part of my arsenal. My work has been shown at the Sylvia White Gallery, IMS Gallery, (featured artist), Uritz & Associates (two person show), College of the Canyons Gallery, (six person show curated by Larry Hurst), and La Galeria Gitana among others. A recent installation of a large public art piece, Crossroads at Iron Horse Trailhead, is located in Santa Clarita. I have had television and radio interviews, was on the cover of Santa Clarita Living and Seasons magazine and am also a guest speaker. I have been part of panel discussions, more recently about art block, that included curator Molly Barnes. A teaching Artist in a variety of venues, reaching children through adults, for over 16 years has been a life altering experience. An active contributor to ARTree, a non-profit organization providing art lessons and events for free or at reduced costs, allows me to give back to the community. One of my goals is to bring art education to as many people as I possibly can!
